Jose M. Mondelo Gonzalez

Jose M. Mondelo Gonzalez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), affiliated with the Centre for Space Studies and Research (CEREs). He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Barcelona (2001) and a Master's in Mathematics from the same institution (1996). His research focuses on dynamical systems, celestial mechanics, and nonlinear dynamics, with particular emphasis on invariant manifolds, Hamiltonian systems, and orbital dynamics applications in space missions.

He has been actively involved in research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, including studies on discrete and continuous dynamical systems, low-dimensional dynamics, and numerical analysis of invariant structures. His work spans theoretical developments to practical applications in astrodynamics and space situational awareness.

Key research interests include parameterization methods for invariant tori, heteroclinic connections in celestial mechanics, and computational techniques for libration point missions. His contributions have advanced understanding of orbital stability, chaotic dynamics, and nonlinear phenomena in both theoretical and applied contexts.

Mondelo has participated in over 25 research outputs since 2001, with notable recent works on quasi-periodic Hamiltonian systems and semi-analytical computations of invariant manifolds in geostationary orbits. His research has been published in prestigious journals like SIAM Journal on Applied Dynamical Systems and Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation.
