Jose Domingos is an Associate Professor and Principal Research Fellow in Aquaculture at James Cook University (Singapore campus), serving as Deputy Director of TFI Projects. He holds a PhD in Aquaculture Genetics from JCU, alongside a MSc in Aquaculture and BSc in Oceanography from Brazilian institutions. His research focuses on developing genomic tools for selective breeding of tropical marine fish species like barramundi, cobia, and groupers, emphasizing disease resistance and growth optimization. With over 25 years of industry and academic experience, he has led numerous high-impact projects funded by agencies like Singapore Food Agency and industry partners.
