dr. J.P. (Jos) Kleijne is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Arts, specializing in the prehistory of coastal Northern Europe. His research focuses on Neolithic, Bronze Age, and Iron Age societies, employing micromorphology and biogeochemical methods to analyze settlement patterns, refuse management, and material culture. He holds a PhD from Kiel University (2018) and leads the MicroTRASH project funded by an MSCA Individual Fellowship (2020-2024), examining North Sea/Baltic coast Neolithic settlements. His work bridges experimental archaeology, environmental science, and socio-cultural analysis.
