Jos Jansen is an industrial economist serving as a Lecturer at the Department of Business Economics at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). He has held academic positions at prestigious institutions including Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Aarhus University, the University of Surrey, and the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods. His research focuses on industrial organization, regulatory economics, contract theory, and quantitative marketing, with recent work analyzing innovation microeconomics and incentive regulation of network industries.
Dr. Jansen holds a PhD from Tilburg University (2000). His teaching spans microeconomics, game theory, industrial organization, and experimental economics across BSc, MSc, and PhD programs. He has supervised numerous theses at all academic levels, including PhD candidates such as Andrés Estévez and Luca Sandrini.
His research output includes key contributions to oligopoly theory, strategic information disclosure, and regulatory frameworks.
