Jorryt van Bommel is an Associate Professor in Mathematics Education at Karlstad University, Sweden. She also holds adjunct roles as Professor II at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences and Guest Professor at Dalarna University. Her career spans over 20 years in teacher education, focusing on mathematics instruction for primary and secondary teachers. She has developed curricula, taught courses, and supervised over 40 Learning Studies projects.
Research Interests: Her work centers on problem-solving methodologies in preschool education, teachers' professional development via social media platforms like Facebook, and instructional strategies impacting student achievement. Key projects include the Swedish National Research Council-funded initiatives on 'Problem Solving in Preschool Class' and 'Teachers' Informal Learning in Social Media'.
