Jorge Pla Vidal

Jorge Pla Vidal serves as Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Navarra's Faculty of Medicine and Consultant at the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Psychology, where he leads the Psychiatric Hospitalization Unit at the University of Navarra Clinic.

His academic credentials include a Medical Degree and PhD (2003) from the University of Navarra, a Psychiatry specialization from the University of Navarra Clinic, and a Master's in Psychogeriatrics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He completed advanced training via a visiting professorship at the University of Pittsburgh's Center for the Study of Depression in Older Adults.

Dr. Pla Vidal specializes in geriatric mental health with primary research focus on elderly depression prevention. He founded and directs the seven-year-running Group for the Study and Research of Depression in the Elderly, concentrating on depressive disorder prevention in aging populations. His clinical expertise spans Geriatric Psychiatry and Electroconvulsive Therapy.
