Jorge Moreno García-Moreno

Jorge Moreno García-Moreno is a full-time PhD Student and Graduate Research Fellow at The Cyprus Institute (CyI), affiliated with the Energy, Environment & Water Research Center (EEWRC). His research focuses on generative designs of solar tower receivers using artificial intelligence tools, under the supervision of Professor Manuel Jesús Blanco.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from University Carlos III of Madrid (2020)
• Master's Degrees in Industrial Engineering and Energy Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia

Research Interests: Jorge’s work integrates computational frameworks with AI to optimize solar energy systems, particularly in the design of solar tower receivers. This research aims to advance renewable energy technologies and improve environmental sustainability through innovative engineering solutions.

Professional Activities: He is part of the TOPCSP Network, contributing to solar technologies research. His current project bridges machine learning and engineering design to address challenges in energy systems.

Advising & Grants: Supervised by Prof. Manuel Jesús Blanco, Jorge’s research is supported by CyI’s Energy, Environment and Atmospheric Sciences doctoral program.
