Jorge Manzanares Robles

Jorge Manzanares Robles serves as Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Miguel Hernández University of Elche, affiliated with the Department of Pharmacology, Pediatrics and Organic Chemistry. He directs the Translational Neuropsychopharmacology research group and coordinates extensive teaching across multiple programs including the Bachelor's in Pharmacy, Master's in Neuroscience, and Master's in Translational Neuropsychopharmacology.

His research centers on translational neuropsychopharmacology with emphasis on pharmacological treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, and drug dependence using animal models. He investigates neuroanatomical and molecular mechanisms to bridge laboratory findings with clinical applications, particularly in computerized psychopharmacology practices and experimental procedures involving animal models.

As research group director, he leads interdisciplinary efforts in neuropathology and therapeutic recommendations for managing psychiatric and neurodegenerative patients. His academic leadership spans curriculum development for courses covering pharmacognosy, phytotherapy, and clinical training in neuropsychopharmacology.
