Jorge Jesus Rodriguez Chueca

Jorge Jesus Rodriguez Chueca is an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial and Environmental Chemical Engineering in the School of Industrial Engineers (ETSII) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) since 2020. He holds the Professor Echegaray Excellence Seal from the Community of Madrid and leads the research line on "Advanced Water Treatments" within the Environmental Technologies and Industrial Resources (TAR-Industrial) group. His expertise spans sustainable water treatment technologies, environmental impact assessment, and industrial wastewater management.

His research focuses on photoassisted advanced oxidation processes for water disinfection and emerging contaminant removal, with applications in industrial symbiosis and life cycle assessment. He has led 6 R+D projects (including In_Reuse and Echegaray) and participated in 14 national/European projects. Publications include 54 peer-reviewed articles (86% in Q1 journals), 6 book chapters, and technical articles.

As an editor for MDPI journals (Water, Sustainability, etc.) and Chemical Engineering Science (Elsevier), he contributes to academic dissemination. Awards include Youth of the Year (2020) and two six-year research periods (Sexenios 2009-2015, 2016-2021).
