Dr. Jordi Ripoll Misse is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Statistics within the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Girona (UdG). He actively contributes to the research group Differential Equations, Modeling and Applications and participates in the project Stochastic and deterministic models. Applications in Biosciences, which is part of the consolidated SGR 00113 research group. His work bridges mathematical theory with ecological and epidemiological applications, emphasizing analytical and computational approaches.
- Research Focus: Analysis of epidemic models, calculation of basic reproduction number (R₀), discrete-time ecological modeling, and structured population dynamics using partial differential equations (PDEs) and evolutionary equations (ERs).
- Teaching: Specializes in mathematical modeling, algebra, calculus, differential equations, and numerical methods. Integrates artificial intelligence into pedagogy through the XID research group.
