Jordi Aguiló Gisbert

Jordi Aguiló Gisbert is an Adjunct Professor at UCH-CEU's Faculty of Veterinary and Head of the Exotic Animal Service at the CEU Veterinary Clinical Hospital since 2014. He graduated in Veterinary Medicine from UCH-CEU in 2004 and has specialized in exotic animal medicine, zoo animal care, and wildlife conservation. His roles include academic coordination, TFG/TFM tribunal membership, student tutoring, and clinical teaching.

His research interests focus on Medicine and surgery of exotic and wild fauna, with particular emphasis on pharmacology, critical care, diagnostic imaging, and disease ecology in non-traditional veterinary species. He actively contributes to AVEPA's Exotic Animal Surgery and Medicine Group (GMCAE) and is pursuing AVEPA accreditation in Exotic Animal Medicine.

Recent publications and presentations highlight his work on antiparasitic treatments for small mammals (2019), surgical pleurodesis in ferrets (2019), anthelmintic trials in Hermann's tortoises (2019), avian emergency care (2019), thyroid surgery in king snakes (2018), and wildlife Leishmaniasis reservoirs in Spain (2018). He frequently participates in clinical conferences and educational programs.

A dedicated member of the SAIGAS research group (Service for Analysis, Research, and Management of Wild Animals), he combines clinical practice with conservation advocacy, emphasizing optimal health conditions for exotic pets and public education on wildlife preservation.
