Jordan Kiper

Jordan Kiper is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at UAB, specializing in cooperation/conflict dynamics through interdisciplinary approaches combining anthropology, cognitive science, and human rights. His PhD from University of Connecticut examined propaganda's role in Yugoslav Wars violence.

Current fieldwork investigates hate speech effects in the Balkans and Northern Ireland, cross-cultural human rights beliefs, and religion's peacebuilding potential. As former US Ambassador for Human Rights Measurement Initiative, he contributes to human rights monitoring frameworks.

He collaborates with veterans' reconciliation initiatives and teaches courses on propaganda, transitional justice, and human rights.
