Jordan Kanter is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His teaching focuses on design studios and seminars in building technology, architectural representation, computational design, and fabrication. His research explores intersections between built and natural environments, spanning scales from interactive installations to region-scale infrastructure systems.
- Education: Master of Architecture (SCI-Arc), Bachelor of Science in Biology (MIT).
- Professional Experience:曾担任Michael Maltzan Architecture的设计师,负责无家可归者住房、学生住房和基础设施项目;MAD的高级设计师,领导了获奖的哈尔滨大剧院(2015年竣工)及其他文化项目。
His research initiatives include Solar River (water-energy nexus via solar structures over water infrastructure) and his practice, foundCity. Office hours: Wednesdays 10:00 AM–12:00 PM or by appointment.
Notable projects include the award-winning Harbin Opera House and work on modular housing typologies.
