Dr Jonny Evans is a Reader in Pure Mathematics at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Lancaster University. He specializes in Symplectic Topology and its intersections with Singularity Theory and Algebraic Geometry. His research explores geometric structures and topological phenomena in mathematical spaces like S² × S².
His recent work focuses on Lagrangian Klein bottles, advancing understanding of symplectic embeddings and singularities. Evans actively supervises PhD students, including Matthew Buck, Elliot Gathercole, and Patrick Ramsey, in the Algebra and Geometry research group.
