Joniada Milla

Joniada Milla is an Associate Professor of Economics at Saint Mary’s University’s Sobey School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Guelph and has held prior positions at Wilfrid Laurier University and the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). Her research focuses on applied microeconometrics, education economics, and policy evaluation with secondary interests in labor and development economics. She is a Research Fellow at IZA.

Recent Research Trends: Her 2024 publications address teacher incentive policies and fertility dynamics, while earlier work (2015–2021) explores educational attainment pathways and labor market returns. A common thread is applying quantitative methods to social policy questions.

Professional Activities: Serves on editorial boards, teaches courses in microeconomics and social policy analysis, and maintains active collaborations with international researchers. Currently on parental leave (2024) and sabbatical (2025).
