Jonathan Zderad serves as Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Northwestern - St. Paul, where he co-founded the Computer Science major in 2013 and maintains active expertise in computational systems and mathematical philosophy.
His academic credentials include:
- Ph.D. from University of Northern Colorado
- M.A.T. from Miami University (OH)
- B.S. from Taylor University
Dr. Zderad's research integrates historical and philosophical dimensions of mathematics with modern computational applications, including cellular automata, artificial intelligence, and robotics. His unique scholarly focus examines the intersection of Christian faith and mathematical theory, developed through decades of work on machine vision systems and decision-making algorithms since the early 1990s.
Prior to joining Northwestern, he contributed to K-12 STEM education reform as a statistician for Project Discovery Ohio, strengthening his commitment to pedagogical innovation in mathematics instruction.
