Jonathan Winburn

Jonathan Winburn is a Professor of Political Science and Director of the Social Science Research Laboratory (SSRL) at the University of Mississippi's College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on state politics, policy representation, and redistricting, with notable contributions to understanding electoral integrity, legislative behavior, and public policy implementation. He serves as co-editor of the State Politics and Policy Quarterly and is associated with the Center for the Study of Southern Culture.

Education: B.A. from Western Kentucky University; Ph.D. in Political Science from Indiana University-Bloomington (2005). Previous roles include Graduate Program Coordinator in Political Science and Director of the Center for Research and Evaluation (CERE). His work bridges empirical research with practical applications, such as analyzing the impact of honors programs on student outcomes and exploring partisan influences on welfare distribution.
