Jonathan Singer

Jonathan Singer is Professor of Medicine at UCSF and Associate Medical Director of the Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant program. He founded and co-directs the UCSF Advanced Lung Disease and Lung Transplant Research Program.

Research pillars:

• Frailty phenotyping in transplant candidates
• Patient-reported outcomes in advanced lung disease
• Biomarkers of graft dysfunction
• Transplant immunology and rejection mechanisms

Developed validated instruments including Lung Transplant Frailty Scale (LT-FS) and Lung Transplant Quality of Life (LT-QOL) survey.

Recipient of American Thoracic Society Early Career Achievement Award. Leads NIH-funded studies on frailty biomarkers and transplant outcomes.

His research group collaborates across disciplines to advance care for lung transplant recipients and patients with advanced lung diseases.
