Professor Jonathan Radcliffe is a Professor in Energy Systems and Policy at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham. He leads an interdisciplinary research team and serves as the Resilient Cities theme lead at the Institute for Global Innovation. His work focuses on energy technology, policy, and innovation, particularly energy storage and urban resilience in transitioning cities.
He is a member of EPSRC’s Energy Strategic Advisory Committee and a Specialist Adviser to the UK House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee. With 13 years of policy experience in government and parliament, he collaborates with global partners including India, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and the EU. His research spans cryogenic energy systems and policy frameworks for sustainable urban development.
Since 2015, he has been a full-time academic, contributing to conferences and publications. His advisory roles and international projects highlight his expertise in bridging academic, policy, and industrial sectors.
