Jonathan Lu

Dr. Jonathan Lu is a Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. He completed his medical training at UC Davis and holds a BS in Biology from Stanford University. His clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery, including eyelid malposition, orbital diseases, and cosmetic procedures.

Research Focus:

• Orbital diseases (thyroid eye disease, orbital inflammation)
• Ocular oncology (tumors of the eye and surrounding regions)
• Application of artificial intelligence/machine learning in oculoplastic surgery

Publications highlight work on genetic mutations in autoimmune disorders, pediatric orbital cellulitis management, and innovative surgical techniques for orbital decompression and myiasis. His scientific awards include:
