معرفی
Jonathan Home is a Full Professor at the Department of Physics, ETH Zürich, specializing in experimental quantum physics. His work focuses on trapped atomic ions for quantum state engineering, simulation, and information processing. He leads research into microfabricated ion traps to enable scalable quantum technologies.
- Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England (1979)
- DPhil in Physics, University of Oxford (2006)
- Postdoctoral research at University of Oxford (2005–2006) and NIST, Boulder, CO (2006–2010)
His research explores quantum system-environment interactions, aiming to engineer quantum correlations and advance fault-tolerant quantum computing. Recent work highlights laser cooling, integrated photonics, and nonlinear reservoir engineering for trapped ions. His publications emphasize scalable quantum control and error correction.
Jonathan Home was awarded the Golden Owl (2024) for exceptional teaching and has held a Royal Society University Research Fellowship (declined). He teaches courses such as Physics I and Laser Seminar at ETH Zurich.
