Jonathan Hauser

Jonathan Hauser is a doctoral student and ATER (temporary teaching and research fellow) at the Centre for Anglophone Studies (CAS), University of Toulouse – Jean Jaurès. He teaches English and conducts research in American civilization, politics, education policy, citizenship, and the 'Culture Wars' in the United States, with additional focus on secularism and illiberalism in France.

Jonathan Hauser's recent publications focus on civic education reforms in the U.S., analyzing political and ideological divergences between states. His work also examines data challenges in educational research and the impact of French secularism on Muslim students. A 2021 article in French Cultural Studies investigates state-driven illiberalism and symbolic violence against Muslims in higher education.
