Dr. Jonathan Grenz serves as Dean of the School of Ministry and Catherine T. MacArthur School of Leadership at Palm Beach Atlantic University, a position he has held since joining the institution in 2007. Previously, he directed PBA's Master of Divinity program and served as assistant director of the Center for Experiential Learning.
With over 30 years of diverse ministry experience spanning the Midwest, Northwest, southern California, south Florida, and western Canada, Grenz has served as lead pastor, associate pastor in youth ministry and Christian education, and director of a parachurch ministry. His academic background includes full-time faculty positions at Sioux Falls Seminary and adjunct professorship at Taylor University, College and Seminary in Edmonton, Alberta.
Grenz has led numerous short-term mission groups and taught pastors internationally in Colombia, Nigeria, the Philippines, and Ukraine. He co-authored Synergistic Collaborations: Pastoral Care and Church Social Work, focusing on outreach ministries and collaboration with community organizations. His research interests center on practical ministry applications, pastoral care integration with social work, and developing emerging Christian leaders for global service.
He previously served as president of the We Are Life board of directors, a foundation providing resources for evangelism, ministry, education, enterprise, health care, and social work in Colombia. Grenz remains actively involved in church service through interim pastoring, consulting, student ministries leadership, retreat speaking, and local church preaching.
