Jonathan Ernest

Jonathan Ernest is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, where he has taught since 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (2019), MA in Economics (2015), and dual BS degrees in Economics and Political Science (2009) from Clemson University.

His research examines how government policies create economic incentives, informed by his background in American politics, insurance, and private enterprise. He teaches courses including Principles of Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Economic Analysis of Business Strategies, and The Economics of Sports, and has been nominated for multiple teaching and mentoring awards.

Prof. Ernest contributes to university governance via the Faculty Senate Committee on Undergraduate Education and previously served on its Curriculum Committee and the Committee on Undergraduate and Integrated Studies. He advises the Weatherhead Economic Society, CWRU Real Estate Club, and CWRU Quiz Bowl.
