Jonathan Eden

Jonathan Eden is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience, Coventry University. He holds a Doctorate in Climate Science from the University of Birmingham (2007–2011) and has held external positions at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (2014–2017) and the University of Birmingham (2011–2014).

His research focuses on climate variability, anthropogenic climate change impacts on high-impact weather events (e.g., floods, heatwaves, wildfires), and statistical downscaling techniques for climate models. He leads projects addressing climate extremes in forests, agricultural systems, and Mediterranean regions, funded by organizations like the European Commission and internally funded initiatives.

Eden has received the Outstanding Research Supervisory Team Award (2023) and actively participates in international conferences and media commentary on climate change impacts. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and environmental sustainability.
