Jonathan Dessi-Olive

Jonathan Dessi-Olive is an Assistant Professor of Architecture in Building Technology + Design Integration at the School of Architecture, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, since 2022. He previously held positions at Kansas State University and was the inaugural Ventulett NEXT Fellow at Georgia Tech (2017-2019). His research focuses on sustainable building technologies, acoustic design, and computational methods, with a specialization in fungi-based materials (myco-materials). He directs the MycoMatters Lab, which explores applications of mycelium in structural design, acoustics, and sculpture.
