Jonathan Coleman is the Erasmus Smith's Professor of Natural and Experimental Philosophy and Chair of Chemical Physics at Trinity College Dublin. He is affiliated with the School of Physics and CRANN Research Institute, focusing on nanomaterials and chemical physics.
- Fields of Interest: Nanomaterials for energy storage, graphene/2D materials, printed electronics, materials chemistry, and solution processing.
His research explores the physics and chemistry of nanoscale materials, particularly their applications in energy storage and printed electronics. Recent work analyzes charge transport mechanisms in nanosheet networks and the limitations of 2D material-based batteries.
Recent publications highlight advancements in solution-processed nanomaterials and their integration into high-performance devices, with a focus on morphology optimization and defect engineering.
