Jonathan Berman

Jonathan Berman is an Assistant Professor at Arkansas State University's Beck College of Sciences & Mathematics, Department of Biological Sciences, and affiliated with NYITCOM-Arkansas. His research focuses on molecular and physiological mechanisms underlying hypertension, particularly the role of the Epithelial Sodium Channel (ENaC) in blood pressure regulation.

The Berman lab investigates unique projects such as:

• Naked mole rat adaptations to hypercapnic (high CO2) environments, studying renal mechanisms for acid-base balance
• Development of microfluidic surface plasmon resonance devices to analyze protease activity in biological fluids

These projects bridge molecular biology, physiology, and biomedical engineering.
