Dr. Jonathan Allan is an Assistant Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies and Canada Research Chair in Queer Theory at Brandon University. He holds a B.A. (2004) and M.A. (2006) in Spanish from Queen’s University, where his thesis focused on Monja Alférez, examining clothing, gender, and performance in Catalina de Erauso’s autobiography. He is the author of the forthcoming book *Reading from Behind*, exploring themes of the anus and embodiment. Dr. Allan’s research interests span queer theory, gender, and cultural studies.

Research & Editorial Roles: Associate Editor of *Journal for Popular Romance Studies*; Editorial Board member of *Chasqui: Revista de literatura latinoamericana*, *Journal of Men’s Studies*, and *Ivorian Journal of Comparative Studies*. Focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to gender, embodiment, and sexuality, influenced by his studies in Cuba, Mexico, and Ecuador.
