Dr. Jonathan Alderman is a Research Fellow at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), affiliated with the Collaborative Research Center 1369 'Cultures of Vigilance' (Project B06). He holds concurrent positions as Honorary Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews' Centre for Amerindian, Latin American and Caribbean Studies and Associate Fellow at the University of London's Institute of Latin American Studies.
His research focuses on:
- Indigenous autonomy and cosmopolitics in Bolivia
- Material culture and infrastructure studies
- Neoliberalism's impact on class/ethnic relations
- Urbanization and ritual practices in Andean communities
- Vivir Bien (Living Well) philosophy and social housing policies
