Jonas Vibell

Jonas Vibell is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology, University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, where he leads the Brain & Behavior Laboratory. He is affiliated with both the Department of Psychology and the John A. Burns School of Medicine, collaborating internationally with institutions like the University of Hong Kong and Oxford University.

Vibell's research focuses on cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, particularly multisensory perception and attention. He employs psychophysics and non-invasive neuroimaging tools such as EEG, ERP, fMRI, tDCS, and TMS to study how spatial representations integrate across vision and touch. His lab emphasizes advancing neuronal recordings of brain signals and applying techniques to fields like medicine, engineering, and machine learning.

At the Brain & Behavior Laboratory, Vibell utilizes a 68-channel Synamps2 electroencephalograph, Brainvision active electrodes, and software platforms like Matlab, EEGLab, and Open Sesame. The lab also offers EEG/ERP crash courses, highlighting the transferable skills in brain signal analysis.
