Jonas-Sébastien Beaudry is an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Health, Inclusion and Policy at McGill University, with a joint appointment between the Faculty of Law and the School of Population and Global Health. He specializes in health law, bioethics, and disability rights, focusing on public health policy, equality rights, and theories of autonomy. His research has been funded by grants from FQRSC, SSHRC, and the Fondation du Barreau du Québec.
Education: PhD in Law (Oxford, 2014), LL.M (Harvard, 2007), BCL/LLB (McGill, 2004). Professional experience includes roles at the Peter A. Allard School of Law (UBC), the McGill Unité d’éthique biomédicale, and clerkships at the Supreme Court of Canada and the International Court of Justice.
Research interests encompass disability rights, bioethics, and legal philosophy. He founded the McGill Disability Working Group and advises disability organizations on litigation. His recent work critiques ableism in Canadian law and explores the intersections of disability with contractual obligations and moral theory.
