Jonas Stage Sø

Jonas Stage Sø is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Biology, University of Southern Denmark. His research focuses on freshwater ecosystems, specializing in greenhouse gas fluxes (methane and carbon dioxide), lake restoration, and ecological modeling. He collaborates with researchers from the University of Copenhagen and conducts field studies across Danish aquatic systems.

His research examines:

• Methane ebullition dynamics in global lakes
• Environmental drivers of greenhouse gas emissions
• Lake restoration techniques including sediment removal
• Long-term monitoring of biodiversity and water quality
• Ecological modeling of nutrient cycling

Jonas has taught courses including Økologi A (Ecology A), Statistik (Statistics), and Feltkursus i økologi (Field Course in Ecology). He has developed specialized equipment for automatic methane measurements in aquatic environments.

Current projects include environmental quality assessment in restored lakes and wetlands, and investigating hydrological restoration effects in Søholt Storskov. His research has been featured in Danish media discussing lake pollution and methane emissions mitigation.
