Jonas Larsen Hilmo

Jonas Larsen Hilmo is a University lecturer at the Department of Clinical Medicine, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. His research focuses on trauma surgery, emergency medicine, and critical care, with a particular emphasis on complications arising from orthopedic procedures and hypothermic cardiac arrest. He has contributed to studies on bone marrow embolism and inflammatory responses in animal models.

Recent publications highlight his work in trauma-related inflammation, fat embolism syndrome, and Arctic medicine. His 2024 studies in JBJS Open Access and Frontiers in Immunology investigate systemic emboli and cytokine responses following femoral nailing. Earlier work (2014-2017) includes guidelines on prolonged resuscitation in hypothermic victims and clinical analyses of fat embolism syndrome.
