Jonas Lantz is an Associate Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Health, Medicine and Caring Sciences and the Division of Diagnostics and Specialist Medicine. His research focuses on simulating cardiac blood flow using advanced imaging techniques like CT and MRI, aiming to improve early detection and management of cardiac diseases. He leads projects such as the Medical Digital Twin (MeDigiT) platform and collaborates with institutions like the Center for Medical Image Science and Visualization (CMIV). Notably, his team’s model for simulating heart function won the 'Best in Show 2019: Academic' award from Ensys. Lantz holds a PhD in applied thermodynamics and fluid mechanics and has pioneered methods transferring computational techniques from the automotive industry to medical applications. His work integrates biomechanics, imaging, and computational fluid dynamics to address cardiovascular challenges.
