Jonas Gottal is a Research Associate at the Chair of Software Engineering for Business Information Systems within the School of Computation, Information and Technology at Technical University of Munich (TUM). He earned a bachelor's and master's degree in Computer Science from Ludwig-Maximilian University (LMU) Munich, complemented by an Erasmus exchange program at INSA Lyon, France, and a master's thesis on explainable AI methods for black box models at Siemens.

His research focuses on causal reasoning and causal structure discovery from unstructured data, leveraging large language models (LLMs) for mathematical reasoning, synthetic data generation, and decision-making applications in medical and business domains. Jonas contributes to the AI-Based Knowledge Assistant for Cancer Care (Aidvice) project, collaborating with the TUM University Hospital.
