Jonas Elvander

Jonas Elvander is a Researcher in the Department of History at the European University Institute (EUI). His doctoral thesis, titled Neoliberal planners: Early neoliberalism, economic planning and European federation, 1920-1967, is supervised by Nicolas Guilhot and second-read by Emmanuel Mourlon-Druol. He is part of the EUI’s 2022 cohort. His research focuses on the intersection of neoliberal thought, economic planning, and transnational governance in 20th-century Europe. Elvander’s work examines how intellectual frameworks influenced policy-making and institutional development during the early phases of European integration. His academic activities are centered at the EUI, with a specialization in the history of political economy and transnational intellectual networks.
