Jon Sutton is a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Loughborough Design School, part of Loughborough University's School of Design and Creative Arts. With over 30 years of experience in domestic and commercial design consultancy, he specializes in sectors including domestic appliances, defense, transport, and leisure. His professional career spans roles from graduate designer to design director/partner, collaborating with global clients like Boeing, UK MOD, and Conran Design Group.
Education: He holds a BA in Design Technology from Loughborough University, an MA in Industrial Design (Engineering) from De Montfort University, and a PGCE in Design Education. His teaching experience includes secondary education and design pedagogy.
Research interests focus on design conception, innovation, and translating ideas from concept to manufactured solutions ('blank sheet of paper to product in a box').
