Jon Mason

Dr. Jon Mason is an Associate Professor in Education (e-Learning) at Charles Darwin University (CDU), part of the Faculty of Arts & Society. He holds adjunct roles at East China Normal University and Korea National Open University. His expertise spans digital technology in education, inquiry-based learning, and open educational practices. He chairs ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC36 and contributes to global educational standards.

Education: PhD in Digital Learning (Queensland University of Technology), Master of Knowledge Management (University of Canberra), and Master of Arts (Cognitive Science) (University of Melbourne).

Research interests include AI in education, data literacy, open educational resources, and the interplay of inquiry and wisdom. His work addresses global competency frameworks, international standardization, and challenges in digital learning environments.
