Johnny Shakir Macon serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture within Morgan State University's School of Architecture & Environmental Design. He holds an M.L.A. from Morgan State University and a B.S. from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
His research focuses on Urban cultural landscapes and Community Design, emphasizing civic engagement and community-driven placemaking. Macon's work integrates landscape architecture with community activism, prioritizing 'People First' in all projects including recreation design, streetscaping, and neighborhood revitalization initiatives across Baltimore City and central Maryland.
Professional recognition includes:

Macon teaches foundational architecture courses including Communications Skills I/II, Design Studios, and Urban Design Studio.
