معرفی
Dr. John Weldon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Towson University. He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Johns Hopkins University and completed postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute. His research focuses on molecular biology, biochemistry, and biophysics with specialized expertise in protein design, antibody conjugates, and recombinant immunotoxins for cancer therapy.
Research interests include developing targeted cancer therapies using engineered immunotoxins, optimizing antibody-drug conjugates, and investigating molecular mechanisms of toxin-mediated cell death. His work spans protein engineering, molecular oncology, and therapeutic applications for viral infections and hemophilia.
His recent publications demonstrate focus on undergraduate research pedagogy, immunotoxin mechanisms, and enzyme function characterization. Scholarly output trends toward therapeutic protein engineering and molecular biology education.
Dr. Weldon has mentored over 40 undergraduate and graduate students and serves as faculty advisor for the Towson University ASBMB Student Chapter. He leads research on antibody conjugates and maintains an active laboratory focused on protein biochemistry.
