John Wassick is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, joining after a 42-year tenure at Dow Inc. His career spans leadership roles in Manufacturing and Engineering, Research and Development, and Integrated Supply Chain at Dow.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University (1987)
- M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University (1982)
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University (1978)
Research Interests: Focused on advanced process decision-making, industrial engineering, machine learning, operations research, process optimization, and process systems engineering. His work emphasizes model-based techniques for chemical process control and optimization.
