John Turner is a Professor of Finance and Financial History at Queen’s University Belfast since 2005. He holds leadership roles including Director of the Queen’s University Centre for Economic History and the Long Run Institute. His research focuses on banking crises, financial bubbles, and long-term financial market evolution. Notable works include Banking in Crisis (2014) and Boom and Bust (2020), the latter recognized as a Financial Times Best Economics Book. Academic honors include the Wadsworth Prize and Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
