John Smolinsky is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in the Department of Psychology at Suffolk University. He holds a PhD, MA, and BA in Psychology from Suffolk University and is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Massachusetts.

His clinical work focuses on enhancing social support and community integration for Veterans with diverse clinical presentations, including substance use disorders (SUDs) and gambling addiction. He collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop community-building interventions and alternative models of residential SUD treatment. Courses taught include Counseling Theory & Prac, Substance Abuse & Treatment, Research Methods, Family Therapy, and Counseling Internships.
