John Ruppert

John Ruppert is a Lecturer in Biology at the Department of Natural Sciences, Fordham University. He holds a Ph.D. in Science Education from Rutgers University (2015), an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology (2008), and a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences (2005).

His research in the Learning Sciences and Educational Philosophy investigates scientific reasoning across professional, civic, and classroom contexts. He employs qualitative methodologies to study collaborative AI tools, curriculum design, and experiential learning frameworks.

Recent publications highlight his work on epistemic models for socioscientific reasoning, sustainability meta-competencies, and pandemic-era experiential learning. His projects focus on AI scaffolding, learning progressions in ecosystems, and integrative models for service learning.
