John Rowlett is a Clinical Professor and Campus Assistant Dean at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG), Augusta University. He holds academic appointments in both the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Medicine, where he plays a key role in clinical training and medical education.
Dr. Rowlett earned his MD from the University of Kentucky in 1985 and completed his undergraduate studies in Pre-Medicine at Eastern Kentucky University in 1981. He is board-certified in medicine in the state of Georgia.
His primary research and professional interests lie in Medical Education and Clinical Medicine, with a strong emphasis on clerkship instruction across multiple disciplines including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, Psychiatry, Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Emergency Medicine. His work supports the development of clinical reasoning and procedural competency in medical students.
The courses he teaches reflect a comprehensive, systems-based approach to clinical training, ensuring students receive broad exposure to core specialties during their clerkship years. His role as Campus Assistant Dean further underscores his leadership in academic medicine and curriculum delivery.
