John A. Rogers is the Louis Simpson and Kimberly Querrey Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Neurological Surgery at Northwestern University's McCormick School of Engineering. He also directs the Querrey Simpson Institute for Bioelectronics. His research focuses on bio-integrated electronics, soft materials, and wearable devices for healthcare applications. Rogers holds appointments across multiple departments, including Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemistry.
- Education: PhD in Physical Chemistry (MIT, 1995), SM in Physics and Chemistry (MIT, 1992), BA/BS in Chemistry and Physics (University of Texas, Austin, 1989).
His research interests span bio-inspired materials, flexible electronics, and medical devices. Notable contributions include bioresorbable implants, wearable sensors, and neurotechnology. He has authored over 1,000 papers and holds over 100 patents, with many licensed to industry.
