John Renaldi is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Master of Product Design and Development Management (MPD2) program at Northwestern University’s Segal Design Institute. He currently leads global wearable software initiatives at Google, overseeing design, product management, and research. Previously, he was founder and CEO of Jiobit (acquired by Life360), and held technology leadership roles at Motorola Mobility.
Education: BS from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Techstars Startup Accelerator graduate.
Research Focus: Intersection of e-commerce, physical/digital product experiences, and consumer technology innovation. Known for building scalable business models and teams recognized by industry awards like the Webby Awards and Best of CES. Advocates for mission-driven product cultures prioritizing customer pain points over technical novelty.
