John Reardon is a Senior Lecturer in the Economics Department at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. He holds additional roles as a Research Fellow at Cusanus University (Bernkastel-Kues, Germany) and a Visiting Lecturer at NMIMS (Hyderabad, India). His research focuses on pluralism in economics education, sustainability, and the history of economic thought. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
Reardon has authored three books, including the influential A Handbook for Pluralist Economics Education (2009) and Introducing a New Economics (2017), which advocate for integrating sustainability and pluralism into economics curricula. He is currently completing a novel and developing a history of economic thought module for the Global Development and Environment Institute at Tufts University.
His work emphasizes rethinking economic education to address contemporary challenges like environmental sustainability and systemic inequality. Though no formal awards are cited, his contributions to pedagogical innovation are notable within the field.
