John R. Freedy is a Professor of Family Medicine at the College of Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He holds dual qualifications as a PhD Clinical Psychologist (1990, Kent State University) and a board-certified family physician (MD 2002, MUSC). With over 20 years of faculty experience at MUSC, Dr. Freedy serves as Director of the Behavioral Science Curriculum in the Family Medicine Residency Program. His clinical practice is based at MUSC Health Primary Care - Ellis Oak on James Island, Charleston, where he focuses on integrating mental health into primary care settings.
